About Linda Fox

I have drawn, painted and designed most of my life, starting with art lessons at the age of five.  In college, I worked in theatre scene shops, building and painting sets for plays.  I have a BA in Studio Art from Arizona State University, with an emphasis in drawing and photography.  I have since taken painting, drawing, and sculpture workshops with master artists such as David Kassan, Joshua Fallik, Linda Tracey Brandon, and Rick Casali at Scottsdale Artist’s School.

I would describe my work as “Contemporary Realism.”  I consider every painting to be a detailed “portrait” of the subject in an effort to capture its individual qualities and character.  I often work very slowly on a painting, with many layers of colored glazes.  I enjoy working from life, as long as my subject will hold still.  Otherwise, I use photos that I manipulate in the computer.  I work in a variety of media, but mainly oil and soft pastel.

I also work in digital media as a graphic artist, illustrator and layout designer.

In 2014, I had the honor to become one of 19 artists to participate in the Artistic Infusion Program, designing coins for the U.S. Mint.
